The range
In 2026 a wedding photographer in Lancashire costs anywhere from a few hundred pounds to a few thousand, and the spread is wider here than most couples expect. We priced up 25 photographers across the North West in September 2026, from Blackpool to the Lakes, and the figures below are what we found. They are ranges from that research, not anyone’s quote.
Register office and short coverage. Two or three hours for a ceremony at the Wedding Chapel, a register office or a small hotel room, with the groups and a few portraits after. In Blackpool this market runs from about £140 to £350, which is the cheapest in the county. Across the North West a two to three hour package from a full-time photographer is more like £350 to £550, and the national guides put short coverage at £400 to £800. Ours is the Micro & Register Office package: one of us for two hours on a weekday, £299.
Half a day. Four or five hours, usually the ceremony, the drinks, the groups and the start of the meal. With one photographer the range in our research was £345 to £1,200, with the middle sitting at about £850. Add a second photographer and the middle of the range moves to about £1,400. Our half day is £599 on a weekday and £699 at the weekend, and both of us come.
A full day. Preparations to the first dance, eight to ten hours. £1,200 to £1,700 for a full day with one photographer is typical in our research for the North West, and the middle of the 17 full-day prices we collected was £1,450. Blackpool runs lower, £550 to £800 for a full day with one person, and the top of the Lancashire market is £1,750 to £2,000. With two photographers the range was £985 to £3,000, and the middle about £2,000. Our full day is £1,049 on a weekday and £1,295 at the weekend, two photographers as standard.
Full day with an album. The top tiers bundle a pre-wedding shoot, a second photographer and a printed album, and sometimes a short film or the drone. In the North West those packages ran from about £1,450 to £3,000 in our sample, and the national guides put two-photographer packages with an album at £2,200 to £3,500. We sell the extras one at a time instead, so you can see what each costs: Same-Day Prints from £69, the drone at £149 with photography, and the rest on the prices page.
One thing to watch when you compare. Most photographers quote for one person and charge for the second, and a fair few do not offer a second at all. So a £1,400 quote and a £1,400 quote can be two different products. Ask how many photographers, how many hours, and when the gallery arrives, and compare those.
What moves the price
- Hours. Half a day covers the ceremony, groups and drinks. A full day runs from preparations to the first dance.
- Day of the week. Friday to Sunday and bank holidays cost more almost everywhere, including with us.
- Photographers. A second photographer is usually £250–£600 extra, or not offered. It’s included in every package of ours.
- Travel. Ask where free travel ends. Ours is 10 miles from FY6, then 50p a mile.
- Extras. Albums, prints, drone, booths. Ask what’s a bundle and what’s a bolt-on.
What should be included
Hand-edited, full-resolution images; a private online gallery; a personal-use licence so you can print and share; a planning call; and a stated delivery time. If any of those are missing from a quote, ask.
Why two photographers changes the photographs
One of us is with you while the other is with your guests. You get your face during the vows and your mum’s at the same moment. Group photos go faster because one of us is organising while the other shoots. It isn’t a luxury; it’s how the day gets covered from both sides.
Our prices
Same-Day Prints are an optional add-on from £69 for 5 prints. Drone is £149 with photography. Every price and the terms.
