Weather and permission
If the wind, rain or airspace permission stops us flying, the drone is refunded in full. We check your venue when you book and apply for any permission ourselves, usually 72 hours ahead.
Keep at least 50 m from guests is the rule, which is why we fly the group shot from the edge of the lawn, not over it.
Can we fly at your venue?
The Fylde has more restricted airspace than most places. Blackpool Airport, BAE Warton and the Springfields site all limit flying. Here’s where the first twelve venues stand.
| Venue | Drone status |
|---|---|
| The Glass House, The River Barn, Singleton Lodge | Possible About 1 km outside the airport zone, or no zone within 3 km |
| The Imperial Hotel | Possible About 1.8 km outside the zone |
| Tower Ballroom, Winter Gardens, Wedding Chapel | Check the spot 0.6–0.8 km outside the zone. The beach and prom to the south are inside it |
| Clifton Arms, Lytham Green, the windmill | Check the spot Just outside, but 60–750 m from runway strips |
| Lytham Hall | Permission needed On the edge of the Blackpool zone |
| Ribby Hall Village, The Villa | Permission needed Inside the Warton zone |
| Bartle Hall | Not possible Inside the Springfields restricted area |

Questions
Can you fly a drone at our venue?
Often, but the Fylde has more restricted airspace than most places. Blackpool Airport, BAE Warton and the Springfields site all limit flying. For example, Ribby Hall and The Villa need permission, and Bartle Hall is no-fly. We check your venue when you book, apply for any permission ourselves, and refund the drone if the weather or permission stops us.
Is the drone noisy during the ceremony?
We don’t fly during the ceremony. Flights happen at planned moments, usually the drinks reception.
What if it rains?
We don’t fly in rain or strong wind. If we can’t fly on the day, the drone is refunded.
