Booking terms

These are the terms for booking Tide & Tower to photograph your wedding or event. Tide & Tower is a trading name of Snap The Day Ltd, company number 16016853, registered in England and Wales, based in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, FY6 8HX. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Snap The Day Ltd, and “you” means the person or couple booking us. We have tried to keep it in plain English.
Booking and your deposit
A deposit of £100 holds your date. It comes off your total, so it is not an extra cost.
We check our diary before you pay, and we confirm within 24 hours. Once we say your date is free, we hold it for 7 days while you pay the deposit. If it has not arrived by then, we may release the date to someone else. Your booking is confirmed when we have received the deposit.
You pay the deposit on Stripe’s secure card page. Payments currently go through our sister brand Candid Camera’s Stripe account. It is the same company.
Paying the balance
The rest is due 14 days before your event, by card or bank transfer. If you would rather pay in instalments, tell us and we will agree a plan with you. The last instalment must be paid by that same date.
Cancelling
- Within 14 days of paying your deposit: you get a full refund. This is our cooling-off period, and it is at least as long as the one you have under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- After that: the deposit is not refundable, because we have turned other enquiries away to keep your date.
- Within 14 days of the event: the full balance is due, whether or not the event goes ahead. We will not be able to fill the date.
To cancel, email [email protected]. Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with.
Moving your date
You can move your date once for free, as long as we are free on the new one. If we are not, or you need to move it again, the cancellation terms above apply.
On the day
Weddings have two photographers, Lee and Dom. Events have one. Coverage runs for the hours in your package, and extra time can be agreed with us in advance.
We arrive in good time and bring backup cameras and cards. We can only photograph what the day lets us, so please give us a realistic timeline, and tell us about any must-have shots before the day.
If one of us cannot make it
If one photographer is ill, the other will still shoot your day, and we will bring in a photographer we have worked with. If we cannot cover your day at all, we will refund everything you have paid.
Drone
Drone photography and film are flown by Dom, a CAA-registered drone pilot. Flights depend on weather and airspace, and on the venue and the people around it. If the drone cannot fly because of weather or airspace, we will refund the drone fee.
Travel
Travel is free within 10 miles of our base (FY6 8HX). After that it is 50p a mile, up to a maximum of 60 miles from base. We will tell you the travel cost before you book.
Your photographs
You get a sneak peek within 48 hours. The full edited gallery follows within 6 weeks, in a private online gallery.
You get a personal-use licence. That means you can print the photographs, share them with family and friends, and post them on social media. We keep the copyright, so you cannot sell them or use them for advertising without asking us.
We only use your photographs in our portfolio, on our website or on social media if you have agreed. You can withdraw that agreement at any time by emailing [email protected]. See our privacy policy for more on how we look after your photographs and details.
Same-Day Prints
Same-Day Prints are an optional add-on. They are not part of a booking unless you add them. If the printing fails on the day, we will post your prints to you within 7 days at no extra charge. See Same-Day Prints for what is on offer.
Venues and guests
Some venues, churches and register offices limit where we can stand, whether we can use flash, or whether we can take photographs at all. We are not responsible for those rules, and we will work within them. Please tell us about any you know of.
Guests often take their own photographs. We are not responsible for those, or for guests who get in the way of the shot.
Liability
We hold public liability insurance. If we get something wrong, our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us. This does not limit anything that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. It does not affect your rights as a consumer.
Complaints
If something is not right, tell us at [email protected] as soon as you can, and we will do our best to put it right. We reply within 24 hours.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also use your local courts.
